UD Trucks opens new upgraded clinic for staff

UD Trucks Southern Africa has opened a new upgraded clinic for the 330 employees at its Rosslyn head office and assembly plant. According to Jacques Carelse, managing director at UD Trucks Southern Africa, this new-look facility is now able to provide more effective healthcare services for its employees. “Although we’ve had an on-site clinic for many years, the new upgraded facilities will allow us to better serve our employees and assist them with their health-related issues and concerns. It forms part of our employee wellness programme and apart from raising the awareness of health related issues in the workplace; we’ve also found that it improves the overall safety and morale of our employees,” said Carelse.

The upgrade, which amounted to around R60 000, includes larger facilities and more equipment to better serve the needs the company’s employees. The clinic has a full-time Occupational Health Sister on duty, with an Occupational Health Doctor available for consultations twice weekly.
