This is one of the major motivating reasons for the continued investment in Cquential. The advent of e-commerce and omnichannel are significant drivers of the need for improved supply chain.
With the increase in e-commerce / online shopping; and a consumer expecting ever increasing service levels - the significant challenges are what goes on in the background in order to fulfil order requests. And this is where the reliance of an integrated and collaborative supply chain is critical.
The Cquential WMS is only one cog in the wheel. That is why Cquential has recognised the need for collaboration across the supply chain and developed the solution in a manner that will achieve integration. Integration across disparate systems often poses the biggest challenge.
The underlying imperative still does not change. It is about delivering the right amount of goods, to the right customer at the right time and place. With massive pressure on margins and competing/comparative online pricing, never mind the cost of logistics, get this wrong, and the cost of the reverse logistics i.e. returning the goods all but erodes any margin.
The challenge and opportunity is to engage with the various roles players across the supply chain from the upstream systems like planning and forecasting, order processing, to ‘down-stream’ systems like route planning and transport management systems.
